Pay and payroll

Overtime rules come from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), which generally requires overtime pay at 1.5× the regular rate for covered non-exempt employees working more than 40 hours in a week — but state laws, exemptions, collective bargaining agreements, and employer policies can change how that applies to you. Salary-to-hourly conversions are simplifications (for example, dividing by 2,080 hours assumes a full-time year) and don't account for bonuses, benefits, taxes, or unpaid leave. Always confirm pay figures with your employer or payroll provider.

Taxes

Our tools don't calculate tax withholding, deductions, or liability. If you need tax figures for a paycheck, invoice, or business decision, consult a tax professional or use the IRS and your state revenue department's official resources.
